The Best Custom Shutters, Blinds & Shades!
Proudly Serving the SoCal area

Shout outs to Sunburst’s newest #ShareYourShutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters features two rooms in her home decked out with gorgeous new Polywood interior plantation shutters that beautifully complement both her home’s style and her own personal fashion sense.

Neutral Living Area With Shutters

Chelsey, better known on Instagram as Taste of Coffey, is a Boston-based interior designer with a penchant for stylish color schemes. A quick look at her home shows how she combines whites, off-whites, and muted shades for a look that’s welcoming and comfortable, but extremely stylish at the same time.

Chelsey even offered a few pieces of advice for designers in Southern California and beyond:

  • Have a color scheme in mind. When you design a room, you can always adjust colors to customize it. Make sure to use hues either from your home’s color pallet or ones that will accentuate it.

  • Be flexible in your color usage. I picked shutters that are vibrant white and most of my furniture is gray, both weathered wood and fabric. So I decided to mix in splashes of color and white accents.

Not only does Chelsey pick some fantastic color combos, but her use of space in her home is fantastic too. From her chairs that lead the eyes right up to the wall and her beautiful shutters, to the evenly-spaced accessories in her shelving, Chelsey’s home is fashionable, functional, and very cozy without ever looking overdecorated.

As our contest winner this season, we’ll send Chelsey a gift card to a great restaurant in Boston, in addition to featuring her designs here. To see more of her work, take a look at her personal site at TasteofCoffey.com.

And if you believe the shutters in your home look great enough to be our next winner, post a photo of them online with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters. Let’s get another Southern California home featured here!
